2004 saw the opening of Cofoco's very first restaurant. Today, after a major renovation in 2010, the restaurant still stands as the foundation for what has become a family of restaurants and takeaway spots. Restaurant Cofoco was Copenhagen's first smoke-free restaurant and is on one hand, solid, yet elegant. And on the other, simple, yet advanced. Our menu offers dishes created using Danish produce, but with a taste of French and Southern European cuisine. Geographically and culturally we are situated midway between Naples and the northern Norwegian city of Narvik. We are both Scandinavians and Europeans. However, we only really noticed this after we’d opened. With a location right in the heart of the city’s most raw district, the light and bright restaurant with its two private dining rooms, offers our guests a safe retreat where time, despite being located in the city’s red light district, stands remarkably quiet. Some would describe our high-ceilinged, light cellar location as a bistro, an osteria or a Nordic tavern. Others would use the word unpretentious. We just call it Copenhagen.
